Pasay City LGU distributes food packs to residents under granular lockdown

The Pasay City Social Welfare and Development Office (SWDO) has started distributing food packs to residents of two barangays that were placed under the localized community quarantine (LECQ).

According to SWDO chief Angie Roa-Yu, 21 families from Barangay 184 were given food packs from Department of Social Welfare and Development-National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) and 42 families from Barangay 201.

Yu said other families coming from barangays placed under LECQ will also receive the food packs coming from the DSWD-NCR.

She said aside from the food packs from the national government, Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and other City Hall officials will also provide food packs weekly containing five kilos of rice, vegetables, ready to eat food, and vitamins.

Rubiano said the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) recorded on September 22 a total of 20,291 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 943 which are active and 113 are new.

The city also logged three new deaths due to COVID-19, bringing the total to 507 deaths.

Rubiano said a total of 142 barangays out of 201 were placed under LECQ affecting 614 houses.
