Pagsanjan LGU prepares to open its third isolation facility in a resort

PAGSANJAN, Laguna - The local government unit (LGU) is preparing to open its third isolation facility on Monday (September 27).

The 40 bed-capacity isolation facility will be in La Corona resort, which the municipal government rented to accommodate asymptomatic coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Peter Casius Trinidad said they're making sure that the amenities at the isolation facility will be enough to make patients comfortable during their recovery.

Patients who will be staying in the isolation facility will be given free meals and medicine and will be monitored by nurses and barangay health workers.

A representative from the mayor's office told the Manila Bulletin that they're encouraging COVID-19 patients to stay in isolation facilities to avoid family transmission of the virus.

Aside from La Corona, the LGU has two other isolation facilities: Francisco Benitez Memorial School with 36 beds and an evacuation center converted into an isolation facility with 30 beds.

As of September 24, the LGU has 184 active cases of COVID-19.
