Secretary Fortunato de la Peña said the DOST-FNRI has collaborated with the BSP in crafting a different approach to conduct a webinar series to communicate the benefits of nutritional genomics among various audiences.

Entitled “OMICSena” which stands for “Staging a Scene in the Omics”, the online lecture series is a platform to communicate the recent advances in genomics research of the DOST-FNRI.

“The OMICSena lecture series is part of the DOST-FNRI’s efforts to engage the expertise of Dr. Gerard Bryan Gonzales, a DOST Balik Scientist for metabolomics,” de la Peña reported on Friday, Sept. 24.

The participants of the webinar series will spend nine afternoons with lectures and workshops with the Balik Scientist and other Omics experts, he added.

De la Peña said the webinar series aims to introduce the concept of metabolomics, metagenomics, and food-omics along with the appreciation of the analytical techniques that will support these platforms.
