In a report from News Agency ANI, the woman boarded an Air India flight from Mumbai to Chennai with her Maltese dog named "Bela" and her servant last September 15.

The Mumbai-Chennai flight AI671 has 12 business class seats.

A Chennai airport official said the woman had spent around Rs 2.5 lakh to book all business class seats.

"The average business class cost for Mumbai-Chennai is around Rs 20,000 and the said female passenger paid Rs 2.5 lakh for the travel," the official told ANI.

Air India said it allows passengers to carry their pet inside the plane with certain conditions.

A maximum of two pets are allowed on each domestic flight, it added.

Passengers travelling with their pets will also be given a seat in the last row of the booked class.
