Palace allows gov't workers to leave early on Sept. 27 for Family Week

Malacañang has announced the early suspension of work in government offices at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, to allow workers to spend time with their families and celebrate "Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day".

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed on Tuesday, Sept. 21 Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 90, which enforced the early work suspension.

Based on the Palace memorandum, work in government offices in the executive branch shall be suspended from 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 27, which is 90 minutes earlier compared to a normal work day.

However, agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services, the MC stated.

Meanwhile, Malacañang encouraged all government workers in the executive branch to fully support the Family Week Celebration prepared by the National Committee on the Filipino Family.

It likewise enjoined other branches of government, independent commissions or bodies, and the private sector to likewise allow Filipino families to celebrate the 29th National Family Week.

The Palace directive is in pursuant to Proclamation No. 60 of 1992, which declared the last week of September of every year as Family Week.
