Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso will be running for president in the 2022 elections, while opposition coalition 1Sambayan said it was going to announce its own standard bearer in the next few days.

Political news has taken the focus off the current coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis even as it was reported that the number of new infections has gone in the past seven days.

Controversy continues to rage over the allegedly anomalous pandemic purchases made by the government with an official of medical goods supplier Pharmally being taken into custody by the Senate for being evasive with his answers in a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing.
