Pangasinan provincial government distributes largest loan assistance yet to livelihood groups


DAGUPAN CITY — The Pangasinan provincial government, under the leadership of Governor Amado I. Espino III, turned over ₱10.9 million worth of loan assistance to 64 livelihood groups and one micro, small, medium enterprise (MSME) on Friday, September 17.

The turnover of loan assistance is under the Provincial Livelihood Assistance Program (PLAP), which aims to assist small-scale entrepreneurs, associations, and cooperatives in Pangasinan to ease their financial burdens.

The livelihood assistance distribution made today is the fourth batch since the beginning of 2021, and the 72nd batch since the program launched in 2008 under then-governor Amado T. Espino Jr.

To date, the PLAP has released over ₱216.8 million to local beneficiaries.

Provincial Population Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office Planning Officer Alex Sevilla said the distribution done today is the largest loan assistance awarded to 2,821 beneficiares.

Ayon kay Provincial Population Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (PPCLDO) Planning Officer III Alex Sevilla, ang livelihood distribution ngayong araw ang may pinakamalaking halaga ng loan na ipapamahagi. Ito rin ang mayroong pinakamaraming benepisyaryo na umabot sa 2,821.

Liza Tamondong, treasurer of the Tamaro Farmers Association in Bayambang, said the livelihood assistance would greatly benefit them, and her family.

Meanwhile, Espino urged the beneficiaries to take good care of their businesses to assist their families and fellow people.
