Filipino designer Rojen Morris makes waves at New York Fashion Week

Rojen Morris

Rojen Morris is a Filipino designer who owns a modeling and talent agency in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the US.

She was raised and grew up in Sapang Dalaga, Misamis Occidental in Mindanao, where she owned a ready-to-wear boutique in her town.

When she moved to the US, Rojen continued her passion for designing, training, and directing pageants and fashion shows as she gives opportunities to women. Her company provides one-on-one management to its models.

Rojen has moved away from the traditional factory-style agency, recognizing her for her unique approach in the competitive industry.

Her creative team strives on a daily basis to ensure that each model reaches his/her fullest potential, ensuring that every avenue of career development is explored and able to experience different aspects of runway modeling.

Rojen's agency has large clients based across the Asia Pacific and just started in the US. Her talents are seen in different catalogs, magazines, billboards, TV commercials, and print advertisements to mention just a few.

"Building and nurturing a healthy relationship between agency and client and models are essentials for me. I treat them as a part of my family. My models' careers are carefully thought-out, and it takes time to fully develop them. It really needs hard work," she said in an interview.

Rojen has been designing dresses for five years now. She designed clothes that her models and her daughter wore during national and international pageant competitions.

She has showcased her various designs in fashion shows and events in the US.

Last Sept. 11, Morris showcases her collection at the famous "New York Fashion Week produced by VIP pageantry, VIP New York Fashion Week.

Here, she paraded her line the "Nejor Empire Collections," where the GMA7-produced series "Encantadia" was her theme.

Rojen also collaborated with another Filipino pride, sketch designer, hair-and-makeup stylist Jan Quijano, and her designer's team associates Carlos Granadillo and Gary Morris in this showcase.

Their line offers basic RTW gowns for beauty queens and colorful and trendy gowns for kids and teens.

Rojen keeps these things in mind when she creates her brand: to make them feel good wearing it, affordability, and being unique.

"Truly, it is a pride to be making your name in the international scene. I am very thankful for this opportunity, and I am thankful for VIP New York Fashion Week for allowing my team and me to be part of this prestigious event. I want to continue to represent my beloved Philippines to inspire my fellow kababayan that anything is possible with hard work and determination don’t give up Dream what you want to dream go where you want to be, because we only have one life and one chance to do it all," she said.
