11 arrested, 2 drug dens dismantled in Antipolo, Lucena drug busts


Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have arrested 11 drug suspects and dismantled two suspected drug dens in two separate buy-bust operations in Lucena City and Antipolo City.

At 10:25 p.m., the PDEA Rizal Provincial Office and the Antipolo City Police Station conducted an operation in Sitio Golden Hills, Barangay San Roque, Antipolo City where five drug suspects were arrested.

They were identified as Romeo Bo, 44; Michael Lorenzo ,32; Ricardo Gallo, 50; Marion Lama, 41; and Richie Fernandez, 41.

Bo was tagged by the anti-narcotics authorities as the operator and maintainer of the dismantled drug den. The combined PDEA and PNP team seized 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000, various drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money.

In Lucena City on the same day, six drug suspects were nabbed by the PDEA Quezon Provincial Office and a drug den destroyed during a buy-bust operation at 10;45 p.m. in Barangay Gulang-gulang.

The suspects were identified as Joemarie Alva, 26; Carmelo Francia, 25; Welson Jarnero, 42; Salvador Mendoza, 19; Neil Kevin Quiopa, 23; and Xavier Leonard Aguilar, 35.

Seized were 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000, more or less 15 grams of marijuana worth P1,800, various drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money.

The suspects in both operations are facing charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Section 6 (maintenance of drug den), Section 7 (employees and visitors of a drug den), Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Section 12 ( possession of drug paraphernalia) and Section 15 (use of dangerous Drugs) of Article II of Republic Act No 9165 or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’ (Chito A.
