2 fishermen killed, 2 hurt in dynamite fishing


TACLOBAN CITY - Two (2) fishermen were killed, while two were wounded when they were hit by dynamite Saturday night (September 18) along the shoreline of Brgy. Malayog, Tinambacan District, Calbayog City.

The fatalities were identified as Cristobal Rosalado, 50, and Jamer Sigue, 32 while those injured were identified as Daryl Tahos, 27, and Rogelio Diaz Jr., 24.

The injured were brought to a hospital for immediate medical attention.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victims were allegedly conducting illegal dynamite fishing, locally known as 'badil.'

Rosalado ignited the improvised dynamite that suddenly exploded on his hand.

This resulted in their instantaneous death and injury on the two victims.

Authorities are still in search of Rosalado's body which remains missing.
