Pia Wurtzbach encourages fans to register as voters

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is pushing fans to exercise their rights as citizens of the country by registering as voters.

On Instagram, she reminded her more than 12 million followers that they have less than two weeks left until voter registration closes on Sept. 30.

Pia then shared a "little story" about her registration experience.

"The last time I was in Abu Dhabi, I realized that I might not be home in the Philippines come elections time. And I don’t want to miss this coming elections," she started.

According to Pia, she immediately went to the Philippine Embassy to register and make sure that she'll be able to cast her vote even when she's not in the country.

"Whether I’ll be working or traveling, this is my PROMISE to myself and my COMMITMENT to my country that I will be able to cast my vote on May 9," she declared.

The beauty queen noted how each vote matters.

"Let’s all do our part. Kung mahal mo ang Pilipinas, gawin natin ang ating karapatan na bumoto para sa ating bayan."
