Edukasyon.ph partners with Microsoft to lead Filipino youth to a better future.

It’s a sad reality that among the more than a million high school students in the Philippines, most have little guidance on how to explore their college options. There are those that end with the wrong course and most won’t even pursue higher education, which is also because of financial constraints. Addressing this kind of challenge is Edukasyon.ph, a website with a search engine that provides students a convenient way of finding the right school for their dream career.

Edukasyon.ph website

Edukasyon.ph has already 650,000 registered users and has attracted 10 million visitors a year since its launch in 2015. It is considered to be the largest educational tech platform in the Philippines where students can learn helpful information and navigate choices from over 2,000 universities, 80,000 courses, and 4,000 scholarships here and abroad.

According to its chief executive officer Grace David, these trusted resources could give Filipino youth the right education and meaningful employment. “Edukasyon’s holistic online education platform empowers Filipino youth with the most powerful array of information and relevant resources regarding courses, schools, scholarships, and much more so they can make career decisions aligned to their passions and interests while also finding jobs the market demands,” she stressed.

With its noble commitment to education, the online platform became one of the finalists in Microsoft’s inaugural regional Emerge X competition held at the Philippine Startup Week in 2020. And now, Microsoft has become a partner of Edukasyon.ph to accelerate its growth in the education network. Since education is a key component of Microsoft's national agenda, Microsoft Philippines’ chief marketing and operations officer Abid Zaidi said that they are working intensively to ensure they democratize technology inclusively to drive the agenda forward. As an Emerge X startup, Edukasyon.ph will be part of Microsoft’s one year mentorship program. Apart from interacting with Microsoft experts and industry leaders, they will receive GitHub and Azure credits and will gain access to enterprise clients globally through Microsoft’s unique co-sell program.

“Being part of the Emerge X program allows us to have global access to the latest technologies, learnings, and tools available from Microsoft, which we can integrate into our platform. This will enable us to grow and focus on bigger things,” says Grace.

Edukasyon.ph aims to strengthen its efforts in harnessing digital literacy as it becomes essential in responding to the challenges COVID-19 has brought to the education and employment sectors.
