The government is pinning its hopes on a new alert level system that could balance the need to keep the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-190 cases down with the demand for the economy to get back on its feet. Metro Manila takes the lead, and will be placed under Alert Level 4 starting on September 16, 2021.

And in the ongoing squabble between Malacanang and the Senate, President Duterte said that all Cabinet members summoned by senators should first seek clearance with him, and stepped up his tussle with Senator Richard Gordon when he pledged to campaign against him in the 2022 polls.

Senator Manny Pacquiao files a P100-million libel and cyber-libel case against Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, the self-proclaimed “Appointed Son of God”, for spreading “fabricated” claims against him at the Makati prosecutors office on Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
