“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” the tvN and Netflix drama starring Shin Min-a and Kim Seon-ho, continued its rise in the ratings, breaking its own record with the fifth episode.
According to Nielsen Korea, the fifth episode of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” that aired on Sept. 11 got a nationwide rating of 9.996 percent with a peak of 11.2 percent to place first, the highest for the drama since it started airing on Aug. 28. It got. 8.742 percent for the fourth episode last Sept. 5.
In the Seoul metropolitan area, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” received a rating of 10.94 percent with a peak of 12.5 percent for episode 5
Among tvN channel’s target 20-49 age group, the drama received 5 percent with a peak of 5.7 percent nationwide, and 5.4 percent with a peak of 6.3 percent in the metropolitan area.
In the Nielsen Korea weekly ratings from Aug. 30 to Sept. 5, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” also took first place among cable TV shows with a rating of 8.738 percent.
“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” again recorded its own personal best in the nationwide, metropolitan and 20-29 viewership ratings, and took first place for its time slot including all channels, Korean media reported.
The drama depicts the growing romance between Hye-jin (played by Shin Min-a), a dentist, and Hong Du-sik (Kim Seon-ho), a jack-of-all-trades, in the town of Gongjin.
In the fifth episode, Hye-jin and Du-sik had too much to drink that she ended up sleeping in his house. When she sneaked out of the house, she was seen by neighbor Jo Nam-sook (Cha Chung-hwa), and rumors started spreading that they slept together.
