'Weekend with the King' to reflect on faith and devotion

Kathy Solis, a former Kapamilya for 22 years and worked for four years as an events consultant for a posh island resort (she is still a consultant for them), never knew that a lazy Saturday afternoon at home would change her life.

Solis never had any gastro issues, but complained of extreme pain in her abdomen that fateful day and was rushed to the hospital. Her pain level won’t go down, and she was recommended for immediate surgery last October 2020 in the midst of a pandemic with no vaccines available yet.

A fourth of her small intestine was severed and just when she was about to be discharged from the hospital, she had internal bleeding and was on a 50-50 life state. So she was brought back to the operating room, this time waking up having a stoma (Check her YouTube account where she tells her story to help other patients who are clueless like her about having one).

Her hospital bill which ballooned to P2.1 million for 3.5 weeks stay and two surgeries was miraculously paid off through family and friends - P1 million of which was just shouldered by one person who said that the post-dated checks she issued in faith were honored by God. “That was clearly a miracle! We just need to put our full trust in Him, the author of our lives,” said Solis.

She has been operated on again a month ago and is living normally once again without a stoma to worry about. Now she is active online doing what she loves best - hosting and adding value to others through these life lessons. She was also honored by The New Channel’s Global Women Who Rule as one of their chosen women to speak during International Women’s Month this year.

Follow her on Kumu, the live-streaming app - https://app.kumu.ph/kathysolis - where she hosts and sings in the show like “Weekend With The King," a program on Bible reflections starting tomorrow, Saturday, at 9 a.m. She also has other collaborations with other streamers on Kumu. Kathy also dabbles in feature writing/reporting in Stan Up With Oro radio and online show with veteran anchors David Oro and Rome Rob. She also does PR work, hosts press conferences. She is also a volunteer in the non-government organization SustainablePH where she also hosts shows.

Solis thanks God for this new life she lives. “He truly transformed me from the inside out. I will never tire speaking of God’s miracle-working power."
