Manila’s Public Information Office refuted a social media post claiming that the city's Baseco Housing Project was funded by the national government.
In an advisory, the PIO branded the post made by “Barangay Duterte,” a page that has over 40,000 likes on Facebook as “fake news.”
“The BaseCommunity Housing Project is a program funded and constructed by the Manila City government,” the PIO said.
In his official Twitter, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso quoted a tweet with a screenshot of the post and wrote: “ebarg” (grabe).
The PIO, meanwhile, asked the public to report the Facebook page.
