Bulacan logs 1,527 new COVID-19 cases, 30 deaths


The Bulacan Provincial Health Office (PHO) has recorded a total of 1,527 new COVID-19 cases and 30 deaths as the coronavirus disease continues to surge in the province.

The PHO said that out of the total of 63,821 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulacan, 59,111 or 93 percent have recovered. The active cases are at 3,513 with 776 admitted in hospitals, 138 in a Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility, while 2,599 are on home isolation.

The PHO also recorded 30 deaths in three days — nine on September 7; five on September 8, and 16 on September 9, bringing the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 to 1,197 in the province of Bulacan.

At least 300 Bulakenyos, including those who have comorbidities, were inoculated during the Bulacan mobile vaccination held at the multi-purpose hall in Barangay Tabang Guiguinto, Bulacan on Thursday, September 9.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando, accompanied by Board member Alexis Castro and Guiguinto Vice Mayor Eliseo "JJ" Santos, reminded Bulakenyos to strictly follow the minimum public health standards.

He said the province is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases a shortage of doctors and nurses.

The governor requested Bulakenyos to help them find doctors and nurses.

“Kung meron kayong kamag-anak o kaibigan na doctor at nurse ay kumbinsihin nyo sila at samahan nyo sa aking opisina upang makausap ko at maipaliwanag kung bakit kailangan natin sila," (If you have relatives or friends who are doctors and nurses, please convince them to go to my office, so I can talk and explain to them why we need them)," Fernando said.

During the mobile vaccination, a certain Atty Arnel Alcaraz of Pandi, Bulacan arrived and offered cash aid to the vaccinated individuals.

Fernando thanked Alcaraz for his assistance and said whatever amount that is being given during a pandemic is a big help.
