PDEA seizes marijuana parcels in Cavite K-9 operation


Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized 13 parcels of 1,200 dried marijuana leaves and seeds from a courier company in Dasmariñas City in Cavite.

In a statement, PDEA said that the K-9 inspection of NDD Adam initially showed positive indications that the parcels contained dangerous drugs before they were opened.

The PDEA Seaport and Interdiction Unit-Batangas and PDEA Batangas Provincial Office opened the parcels at 2 p.m. in the presence of several witnesses to ensure the legitimacy of the operation that yielded P144,000 worth of marijuana.

Appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the sender who was not identified. (Chito A. Chavez)
