BTS’ ‘Fake Love’ music video reaches 1 billion views on YouTube

K-pop superstars BTS made another achievement when their “Fake Love” music video reached one billion views on YouTube.

“Fake Love” reached the milestone on Sept. 8, or in three years and three months after the music video was uploaded on YouTube on May 18, 2018. As of writing, the music video had 1,000,164,661 views.

The music video garnered 35.9 million views in the first 24 hours of release. The song is the carrier track of BTS’ third studio album “Love Yourself: Tear” released on the same day.

“Fake Love” is BTS’ fifth music video to reach one billion views on YouTube after “MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix),” “DNA,” “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey and “Dynamite.”

“MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)” garnered one billion views last July 26, or in three years and eight months since the music video was uploaded on Nov. 24, 2017.

“DNA” music video came out on Sept. 18, 2017, and reached the one billion mark on June 1, 2020, or after two years and eight months, which made BTS the first K-pop boy band to have a music video with one billion views.

“Boy With Luv” became the second BTS’ MV to get one billion views on Oct. 24, 2020, or 18 months after it was uploaded on YouTube on April 12, 2019.

Third was “Dynamite,” which amassed one billion views on April 12 this year, or nearly eight months since its release on YouTube on Aug. 21, 2020.

BTS has five music videos on YouTube’s top 10 most viewed MVs in the first 24 hours of release.
