PH logs 22,415 new COVID-19 cases,a new record high


The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday, Sept. 6, reported 22,415 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, a new record high.

The 22,415 cases surpassed the August 30 record of 22,366.

The additional new cases brought the nationwide total to 2,103,331.

The case bulletin of the DOH also showed 20,109 new recoveries and 103 new deaths.

Total recoveries rose to 1,909,361 while total deaths climbed to 34,337.

The Health department said 68 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 53 of these were recoveries.

"Moreover, seven cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it said.

The DOH said all labs were operational on Sept. 4, 2021 while eight labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

"Based on data in the last 14 days, the eight non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 2.3 percent of samples tested and 2.3 percent of positive individuals," it said.
