92% percent of cops in W. Visayas vaccinated

ILOILO CITY – At least 92 percent of cops and other non-uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Western Visayas region have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

“We want to ensure the safety of all personnel who are deployed as frontliners to serve well the community during this COVID-19,” said Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda, director of Police Regional Office (PRO-6).

As of September 2, a total of 13, 549 cops and personnel have received either their first or second doses in the region comprising of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.

Of the number, at least 7,003 cops were fully vaccinated while 5,505 others had their first dose.

Some of these cops and personnel were vaccinated by the local government units (LGUs) where they are stationed.

While the 92 percent had been vaccinated, a remaining eight percent have not yet gotten the COVID-19 vaccine due to medical conditions.

Meanwhile, PRO-6’s Regional Medical and Dental Unit 6 (RDMU-6) is campaigning for the 100-percent vaccination of all cops and non-uniformed personnel.
