Three of the five members of Korean rap rock band and idol group N.Flying tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

FNC Entertainment, the band’s agency, announced on Sept. 3 that “our artist N.Flying’s Lee Seung-Hyub, Yoo Hwe-seung and Seo Dong-sung were diagnosed with COVID-19 today (Sept. 3).”

It said the three used self-test kits on Sept. 2 as they were experiencing abnormal conditions and they all tested positive and immediately underwent PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test.

“As a result of the test today (Sept. 3), Lee Seung-Hyub, Yoo Hwe-seung and Seo Dong-sung were confirmed with COVID-19. Other members Kim Jae-hyun and Cha Hun tested negative as a result of the self-test kit, but underwent PCR tests immediately and are awaiting the results,” the agency said.

It added, “Currently, Lee Seung-Hyub, Yoo Hwe-seung and Seo Dong-sung are self-isolating and taking necessary measures according to the guidelines of the quarantine authorities. Kim Jae-hyun and Cha Hun will stop all scheduled activities and will undergo self-quarantine.”

“We consider the health and safety of our artists and staff as our top priority, and we will do our best to ensure a speedy recovery of our artists. We apologize for causing concern to many people, and we will faithfully cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the quarantine authorities,” it said.

On Sept. 2, K-pop boy band ENHYPEN members Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake and Sunghoon tested positive for COVID-19, according to their agency BELIFT Lab.

South Korea is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases and the government has imposed the strictest social distancing policy for the greater Seoul area.
