CEBU CITY – Vice Mayor Michael Rama is back as the city’s Acting Mayor after Mayor Edgardo Labella filed yet another leave of absence.
Labella has issued a memorandum, naming Rama as acting mayor from September 2-7.
It will be the fifth time this year that Labella, who was previously diagnosed with sepsis, has gone on a leave.
While the previous leaves of absence were for medical purposes, Labella’s latest break from work was due to “personal reasons.”
“Mayor Labella’s leave is a personal leave so for the details of that we are not informed yet, we are just informed that the Mayor will be on personal leave,” said the mayor’s representative, Atty. Joan Quiñanola, said.
