Muntinlupa LGU’s ECQ ‘ayuda’ distribution nears 87%


The Muntinlupa City government has already distributed nearly 87 percent of the national government’s “ayuda,” or financial assistance to residents in the National Capital Region (NCR) affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) that was imposed from Aug. 6 to 20.

From Aug. 11 to 31, the city government released P383,689,000, or 86.77 percent of Muntinlupa’s total allotment of P442,191,000.

This is equivalent to 383,689 individuals who received the “ayuda” in the city. Muntinlupa expects to finish the distribution of the financial assistance in the next few days.

The Muntinlupa City government is using mobile wallet app GCash and manual payout in releasing the funds to beneficiaries.

A total of P11.25 billion was released by the national government to 16 cities and one municipality in the NCR for the “ayuda.”

As of Aug. 31, Metro Manila local government units (LGUs) have released P10.66 billion, or 94.73 percent of the total budget, translating to 10.66 million recipients.

Among the NCR LGUs, Quezon City, Manila, Caloocan, Pasig, Malabon and Navotas have reached 100 percent distribution.

The Taguig City government has released P662,900,000, or 82.26 percent of the total budget of P805,835,000, benefitting 662,900 individuals.

Pateros, the smallest LGU in the NCR, has distributed P51,816,000, or 98.85 percent of the total allotment of P51,429,000, for 51,816 beneficiaries.

Other LGUs in Metro Manila have the following distribution rates: Paranaque, 88.19 percent (P533.016 million out of P604.37 million); Valenzuela, 92.69 percent (P546.229 million out of P589.309 million); Makati, 68.56 percent (P354.72 million out of P517.419 million); Las Pinas, P484.102 million out of P501.07 million); Marikina, 83.52 percent (P320.772 million out of P384.065 million); Mandaluyong, 93.9 percent (P347.348 million out of P364.595 million); Pasay, 95.61 percent (P341.084 million out of P356.727 million); and San Juan, 99.52 percent (P101.307 million out of P101.794 million).

Based on the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 3 issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Department of National Defense (DND), a P1,000 financial assistance will be given per individual up to P4,000 per family.
