ITCZ to bring cloudy skies, rain showers over some areas - PAGASA


Rain showers and thunderstorms may affect some parts of the country due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The state weather bureau said Thursday, Sep. 2, the ITCZ, a region where the trade winds from the northern and southern hemispheres converge, is affecting the entire country.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may be felt in Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi and Sulu due to the prevailing.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

State meteorologists warned against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
