The city government through the Manila Health Department (MHD) has administered a total of 2,009,171 COVID-19 vaccines since the vaccination rollout began last March.

About 1,265,473 individuals have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 792,505 have been fully vaccinated.

Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso thanked the Manila residents who heeded the government's call to get vaccinated.

"Salamat sa inyo at pinaniwalaan ninyo ‘yung sistema natin na marahil hindi perpekto, ang mahalaga sa akin ay nabakunahan ang higit na marami sa lalong madaling panahon (Thanks to all of you who believed in our system though it may not be perfect, but what's important for me is that many people are vaccinated as soon as possible)," Domagoso said.

"Ang importante ay lahat tayo mabakunahan sa lalong madaling panahon, at iyan ay nakamit natin dahil sa inyo, dahil sa pakikinig niyo sa akin (What's important is that we get vaccinated as soon as possible, and we achieved it because you listened to me)," he added.

According to Domagoso, the city government will continue to address the COVID-19 situation not only for Manila residents but also for the general public.

The nation's capital has the antiviral drugs such as Tocilizumab and Remdesivir which can be availed from the city government by anyone who needs them.
