Man beheaded in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – A body of an unidentified man, who was beheaded was found on Tuesday night, August 31, near the area where a police officer was shot dead along Rosario Street, Barangay 38, Bacolod City on Sunday.

Police Maj. Ramel Sarona, head of Police Station 1, said they have the identity of the victim, but refused to reveal it yet, subject for confirmation of the family.

Sarona said that two sports utility vehicles (SUVs) boarded with about eight unidentified men were seen by witnesses in the area when they reportedly dumped the beheaded body of a man.

Six gunshots were then heard before they fled.

Sarona said the victim was handcuffed and a placard with words “bayad sa utang, interest pa lang, preparar ang capital sa suma total, halong Bacolod”(payment for debt, interest only, prepare the capital, Bacolod be careful) was recovered.

Police also recovered from the crime scene six fired bullets of .45 caliber.

Sarona said that after the discovery of the man’s body, a severed head was recovered a few minutes later at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 here.

Sarona said that an unidentified man from a moving vehicle was seen throwing the severed head on the road.

Sarona said they could not yet confirm if the two incidents were related.

Sarona said they are still waiting for the results of the examination to check if the severed head and the beheaded body were the same.

Sarona also said that it’s possible that a syndicated group might have used the opportunity to kill someone and left the body at the same area, where Police Staff Sergeant Joseph Nepomuceno Jr., an anti-drug operative was gunned down, to make it look as if it’s related.

Sarona said they could not yet give more details as investigation is ongoing.
