At least 20 passengers were rescued from a capsized motorbanca off the waters of Pagadian City n Zamboanga del Sur.
In a report from GMA’s State of the Nation, the rescued passengers, who were mostly children, came from Islas Puting Balas.
The report said they were about to return in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur when their motobanca capsized.
Fortunately, few locals witnessed the incident and immediately called the authorities.
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, the boat was “overloaded” which caused to capsize.
Authorities immediately responded and used jet skis and motorboats to rescue the passengers.
