CEBU CITY – Five persons were confirmed dead in an afternoon fire that broke out in Barangay Sta. Cruz here on Tuesday, August 31.
Firefighters found the bodies of the five persons from the rubble of the 10 structures that were razed.
FO2 Fulbert Navarro of the Cebu City Fire Department said it was not immediately known if the razed structures were houses or commercial establishments.
The fire broke out past 2 p.m. It was raised to second alarm before the flames were put out at 3:41 p.m.
Identities of the five fatalities were not immediately known as firefighters were still scouring the fire scene as of this writing.
