LEDAC's 11 priority bills OK'd in Lower House


The House of Representatives has approved 11 priority bills listed by the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC), Majority Leader Martin G. Romualdez said Friday, August 27.

The priority measures under LEDAC’s common legislative agenda (CLA) ok’d by the Lower House are the following:

- House Bill (HB) No. 7406, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Modernization

- HB 59, Amendments to the Retail Trade Liberalization Act (RTLA)

- HB 5777, Establishing the Tax Regime of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO’s)

- HB 78, Amendments to the Public Service Act (PSA)

- HB 300, Amendments to the Foreign Investments Act (FIA),

- HB 5832, Department of Migrant Workers and Overseas Act (DMWOFA)

- HB 4664, Real Property Valuation Reform Bill

- HB6134, Rural Agricultural and Fisheries Development Financing System Act (AGRI-AGRA)

- HB 7749, Government Financial Institutions Unified Initiatives to Distressed Enterprises for Economic Recovery (GUIDE) Act

- HB 304, Passive Income Tax and Financial Intermediary Tax Act (PIFITA)

- HB 9559, Virology Science and Technology Institute of the Philippines (VIP)

Romualdez said the House “delivered on its commitment” to pass the measures identified by President Duterte in his State of the Nation Address (SONA).

“We stayed true to our mandate and successfully passed most of the administration's priority measures,” the Leyte representative said.

“As to the other measures that the House already approved on third and final reading, rest assured that the House is ready to meet with its Senate counterpart, for a Bicameral Conference meeting to thresh out and reconcile the differing provisions if any,” the solon added.
