Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano has ordered the house-to-house distribution of financial assistance to qualified senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
According to Social Welfare and Development Department (SWDD) head Angie Roa-Yu, around 110 household heads in Barangay 183 were visited by their team and personally gave them the P1,000 up to P4,000 “ayuda” from the national government.
She said they are now working on the delivery of undistributed cash amounting to P17,271.
On Aug. 24, the SWDD chief said they distributed 95% of the ayuda to 200 out of 201 barangays in the city in the amount of P339, 456.
Yu said they are trying to finish the distribution of financial aid to qualified beneficiaries within the week.
Rubiano was hopeful that the city government could finish the distribution of ayuda on or before the Sept.12 extension that they had requested from the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The mayor said the city government received from the national government a total of P356,727 financial aid for distribution to families affected by the imposition of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
