Cloudy skies with rains showers, thunderstorms seen over parts of PH

PAGASA

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to affect several parts of the country due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the state weather bureau said Thursday, Aug. 26.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the ITCZ will continue to affect the Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi may have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

On the other hand, the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the persisting weather system and localized thunderstorms.

State meteorologists warned that possible flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Weather specialist Ana Clauren said no tropical cyclone is expected to affect the country in the next two to three days.
