Mayor Tiangco calls on DSWD officials not to interfere with 'ayuda' distribution in Navotas

Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco on Tuesday said he had asked Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) officials to not interfere with the distribution of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) "ayuda" or cash aid from the national government.

This, after Tiangco received a report that some officials of the DSWD-National Capital Region went to the city's payout centers with their own payroll and insisted that some names should not be included.

We called up the DSWD-NCR staff. I simply told them: don't interfere in the distribution of aid by our local government staff because when we distributed the aid in April, it went well and they still owe us the P8,000, which is the second tranche. That's the one that's not okay yet)," he said in a facebook live.

The condition that DSWD-NCR wants to put in the payout, I told DSWD-NCR, first of all you have no basis to say those conditions. So it's simple. I told our payout centers not to follow the instructions of DSWD-NCR)," he added.

Tiangco clarified that all residents who received the cash aid last April are included in the payroll.

Kung kayo po ay nasa payroll, magbalik lang po kayo at nagbigay na po ako ng instructions sa ating payout center na basta’t nasa payroll eh ibigay po yung ayuda (So those in the payout center now are not given because you are being removed from the DSWD NCR list. If you are on the payroll, just come back and I have already given instructions to our payout center that as long as you are on the payroll, you will be given the aid)," he said.

Residents affected by the reimposition of the ECQ last August 6 will receive P1,000 per person or a maximum of P4,000 per family.
