The Provincial Health Office (PHO) in Bulacan has recorded 323 new COVID-19 cases and 19 additional deaths as cases of the coronavirus, particularly its more transmissible Delta variant, continue to surge in the province.

The PHO said that the total confirmed cases in the province of Bulacan now are 53,746 with 48,971 recoveries. The active cases are 3,670 and 546 of these are admitted in the hospitals, 138 at a Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility, and 2,986 who are in home isolation.

The PHO said the 19 additional deaths bring the total number of COVID-related deaths in the province to 1,105. The highest reported active cases are from the cities of San Jose Del Monte and Malolos, and the town of Guiguinto.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando, in a Facebook post, reminded Bulakenyos to stay at home and to strictly observe the minimum health protocols such as the wearing of face masks and face shields, social distancing., and frequent hand-washing.

Meanwhile, despite the surging COVID-19 active cases in the province, the City of Malolos reported that two of its villages remain COVID-19 free since June. These are barangays Babatnin and Caliligawan.

Fernando lauded the village chiefs of the two COVID-free barangays, identified as Rustico Buluran and Edgardo Cabigao.
