BIÑAN CITY, Laguna - The local government unit's cash assistance distribution team got a sweet surprise from a local bakeshop as a token of appreciation for their hard work.

On Monday (August 24), bakeshop owner Anne Christine Galas confected an eight-inch moist chocolate cake with white icing and four P1,000-bill candies and took it to Radyo Biñan 87.9 station, where Mayor Arman Dimaguila was hosting a public service program.

"I really appreciate that even us, who live inside executive villages, got our ayuda (cash assistance) twice already. I just felt the equality amongst the Biñanenses because everyone is really affected, rich or poor," Galas told the Manila Bulletin.

"We are blessed that they made sure we are safe so they distributed it by going house to house."

During the show streamed live through Facebook, Dimaguila pulled up the candy decoration, revealing a pull-up message that says, "Maraming salamat City of Biñan, Ayuda is Real."

The city government previously rolled out a house-to-house financial assistance distribution in April, when the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) was implemented in Laguna. Galas also sent the team a cake then to show her appreciation.
