Pregnant women in their 2nd, 3rd trimesters urged to get vaccinated in Makati

The Makati City local government said that pregnant women in their second and third trimesters may be vaccinated against COVID-19 as the city continues to ramp up its vaccination efforts especially amid the threat of the more transmissible Delta variant.

"Para sa lahat ng mga buntis na nasa ika-4 na buwan hanggang ika-9 na buwan (2nd at 3rd trimester), maaari na kayong magpabakuna ng mga COVID-19 vaccines na may Emergency Use Authorization mula sa Food and Drug Administration, maliban sa Gamaleya Sputnik V (For pregnant women in their 4th month up to the 9th month of pregnancy (2nd and 3rd trimester), they can now be vaccinated using vaccines with the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) granted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), except for Gamaleya Sputnik V)," it said in a Facebook post.

"Samantala, maaari namang bakunahan ang mga nasa unang trimester ng kanilang pagbubuntis kung may dalang medical clearance mula sa doktor (Meanwhile, pregnant women in their first trimester of pregnancy may be vaccinated as long as they have a medical clearance coming from their doctor)," it added.

The LGU (local government unit) said that those interested to get vaccinated may log in at www.proudmakatizen.com and click COVID-19 vaccination form to register. It also reminded residents that walk-ins are strictly prohibited.

The Makati Health Department (MHD) reported that as of August 22, the city logged 2,080 active COVID-19 cases, 29,309 recoveries, and 772 deaths.
