COVID-19 cases surging in Bulacan; hospitals hit full capacity



The Bulacan Provincial Health Office (PHO) has reported surging cases of COVID-19 in the province which have rendered most hospitals groaning under the strain of patients needing immediate medical attention and admission.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the province has reached 51,316 with 352 new cases.

The PHO said that among the 51,316 cases, 47,365 have recovered. Active COVID-19 cases are 2,870, 438 are admitted in the hospitals, 138 are admitted in a Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF), while 2,294 are isolating at home.

The PHO also reported seven new deaths, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 1,058. The highest reported active cases are from the cities of Malolos and San Jose Del Monte and the town of Guiguinto.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC), headed by its chairman Governor Daniel R; Fernando, said that the
disinfection and sanitation activities in areas where COVID cases have been detected will continue.

Fernando encouraged Bulakenyos to practice social distancing, wear face masks and face shields, and to frequently wash their hands.
