TXT’s ‘Fight or Escape’ album sells nearly 295,000 copies on first day

K-pop boy band TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) sold nearly 295,000 copies of their repackaged album on the first day of release.

The boys released “The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape” on Aug. 17, a repackaged version of their latest album “The Chaos Chapter: Freeze,” which came out on May 31.

According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape” sold 294,991 copies on the first day of release on Aug. 17 and topped the daily physical album chart.

In comparison, “The Chaos Chapter: Freeze” sold 94,276 copies on the first day of release and 344,902 the following day and ended up with first week sales of 630,563 copies.

According to Big Hit Music, “The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape” topped iTunes’ Top Albums chart in 15 countries and regions including Sweden, Turkey, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina as of 8 a.m. KST on Aug. 18.

In addition, the carrier track “LO$ER=LO♡ER” topped iTunes’ Top Songs chart in 16 countries and regions. The music video for the song has garnered 6.33 million views on YouTube as of writing.

“The Chaos Chapter: Freeze” contains 11 tracks: “LO$ER=LO♡ER” (read “loser lover”), “MOA Diary (Dubaddu Wari Wari),” and “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You) feat. Seori (Emocore Mix).” The remaining eight tracks were in the previous album.

Songwriters for “LO$ER=LO♡ER” include Billy Walsh (credited in works with Justin Bieber and The Weeknd) and producer Louis Bell (credited for works with Post Malone, Camila Cabello, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift).

According to Big Hit Music, “MOA Diary (Dubaddu Wari Wari)” is TXT’s first fan song dedicated to MOA, who have supported them. The song’s lyrics were written by TXT members.
