BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Benjamin Magalong confirmed that 10 movie personalities who have been in the city for two months have tested posivite of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Magalong said that nine of them, artists and crew are in an isolation facility while Actor Arjo Atayde has already travelled back to Metro Manila before learning of the positive result of the RT-PCR test done.
“They committed to us na magkakaroon sila ng bubble,pero hindi nangyari, nagkataon pala na may mga tao sila na umuuwi ng Maynila at pagbalik ay hindi na dumadaan ng triage.Tapos, yong monthly na testing commitment nila ay hindi nagawa, so ito ang nangyari ngayon, they are ten people out of 100 sa grupo nila at mga crew ang nag-positive,” said Magalong.
Magalong also said Atayde even travelled back to Manila before his result was released.
”For what he did, he has the potential to infect others because he left and travelled without knowing that he is positive of the virus," the mayor said.
The city is currently investigating the possible breach of protocol and guidelines of the crew during the supposed bubble taping.
Magalong has also ordered a close watch of the 90 others who are on quarantine in a hotel to assure that they do not leave while observing the quarantine days.
Magalong said he has banning all kinds of film-making and shooting in the city considering the threat of the Delta variant of COVID-19.
Atayde's group has been in the city for two months shooting a film.
The shooting has been stopped by the city.
