The Department of Health (DOH) reported more than 14,000 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Monday, August 16.

The 14,610 new cases brought the country's total to 1,755,846.
The Health department also reported 10,674 new recoveries and 27 new deaths.
Total recoveries rose to 1,618,808 while total deaths climbed to 30,366.
The DOH said 380 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 369 of these were recoveries and one is a death.
"Moreover, three cases previously tagged as recoveries have been validated to be active cases and 22 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it said.
The DOH said all labs were operational on August 14 while 7 seven labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
It added that based on data in the last 14 days, the seven non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 1.5 percent of samples tested and 1.6 percent of positive individuals.
The DOH said it is also closely monitoring and coordinating submission of mortality data from hospitals and LGUs to minimize delays in reporting of COVID-19 deaths.
