LOOK: DSWD chief Bautista oversees ‘ayuda’ payouts in ECQ areas in Metro Manila


Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista was among the government officials who ensured the smooth distribution of financial assistance to low-income families and individuals affected by the imposition of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila.

The DSWD released Friday, Aug. 13, photos of Bautista overseeing the first day of distribution of financial assistance in the National Capital Region (NCR) on August 11 “to ensure the orderly conduct of payouts to qualified beneficiaries.”

Bautista, along with the representatives of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Department of National Defense (DND) were present in the cash aid distribution in Greenheights Village Brgy,. San Isidro in Paranaque City; Jose Abad Santos High School in Binondo, Manila; and Caloocan High School in Caloocan City.

“Other payout activities were monitored by representatives of the said agencies who are members of the Joint Monitoring and Inspection Committee to ensure compliance to the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 3,” the DSWD said.

JMC No. 3, series of 2021 which serves as guidelines for the implementation of financial assistance in the NCR was signed on Saturday, Aug. 7.

Bautista, DILG Secretary Eduardo Ano, and Department of National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana signed the JMC No. 3.

The DSWD had vowed to keep an eye on the distribution of P10.894-billion worth of financial assistance to low-income individuals and households affected by the ECQ in the NCR.

DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao said they will closely coordinate with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in monitoring the implementation of the financial aid.
