15 COVID deaths logged on Friday the 13th in Cagayan


CAGAYAN – Friday the 13th was a gloomy day in this province.

According to a report by the Cagayan Provincial Information Office on Saturday, 15 deaths due to COVID-19 were recorded on the day considered unlucky in Western superstition.

Not only last Friday but also the last 13 days in the province proved to be dreadful as 88 individuals have died of coronavirus disease.

This was based on data released by the Cagayan Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU).

Of the 15 deaths, four were registered in Tuguegarao City, the epicenter of virus infection in the province.

Two fatalities also recorded in Alcala and Iguig, while others were from Buguey, Gonzaga, Pamplona, Piat, and Rizal.

According to the report, the province's death case has increased to 560 since the pandemic began last year.

Meanwhile, the number of home quarantined patients in the province remains high with 182.
