The City of Manila received on Friday 900 vials of Tocilizumab, an experimental drug used to treat COVID-19.
The local government said the Tocilizumab was purchased early this year and will be used to treat the city’s severe patients.
The drug will also be offered free to patients admitted to hospitals in Manila.
This is not the first time that the city government had purchased the drug used for COVID treatment.
The city received 1,000 vials of Tocilizumab in April 2021 and purchased another 500 the following month.
As of Aug. 13, 12 p.m., the city’s active cases is at 1,352.
