No halt to Grab PH's services despite ECQ

Grab Philippines has assured its users of continued service amid the persisting enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila as a way to keep Filipinos safe from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), especially the more dangerous Delta variant.

In a statement, Grab Philippines Country Head Grace Vera Cruz said the company is "reaffirming its commitment to supporting Filipinos" by ensuring that its mobility, deliveries, and cashless payment solutions services continue to operate smoothly and reliably to support the needs of consumers.

"We believe that by supporting our consumers, partners, and our broader communities, and doing right by them, we are able to help our kababayans better cope with the challenges that come with another lockdown, support our country’s socio-economic recovery, and create a lasting impact in the lives of many Filipinos who rely on our platform to improve their quality of life," Vera Cruz said.

According to Vera Cruz, the app's GrabCar service will continue to provide safe and convenient transport for commuters during the two-week ECQ. GrabCar Bayanihan, which is a dedicated fleet of vaccinated driver-partners who ferry passengers going to and from vaccination sites, will also continue operations.

GrabFood, GrabMart, and GrabExpress will likewise continue to operate for easy access to everyday essentials, especially since dine-in options have been suspended in all restaurants and food establishments in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Grab Philippines is also encouraging its users to adopt cashless payments through GrabPay, which can now also be used as a payment method for various merchants.

Grab added that it will continue to implement contactless deliveries to help minimize the risk of virus transmission especially now with the threat of the more transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19.

The firm also recently launched its "Vacc to Normal" campaign, which aims to encourage driver-partners and delivery riders to get the jab by giving out rewards to those who have already been vaccinated.
