DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista led the distribution of ESA to 825 family-beneficiaries whose houses were partially damaged by previous typhoons on Aug. 2.

In his message, the DSWD chief asked the beneficiaries to responsibly use their financial aid and to always follow the minimum health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Under ESA, typhoon-affected families are given financial assistance worth P10,000 to reconstruct their partially damaged houses.

Joining Bautista during the payout activity were DSWD Field Office I Regional Director Marie Angela S. Gopalan, Bacnotan Mayor Francisco Angelito Fontanilla, La Union Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Ranilo Ipac, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Rosemarie Calpito, and other personnel of the DSWD Field Office (FO) I and the local government.

The DSWD vowed to continue expediting “its processes to ensure that disaster-affected families will receive the necessary assistance for their recovery and rehabilitation.”
