DOH:236 health facilities at critical risk level


The Department of Health (DOH) said 236 health facilities in the country are now at critical risk level.

In an online press briefing, Monday, August 9, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said it's at critical level because their healthcare utilization is at about 85 percent.

She added that 25 of these 236 facilities are in Metro Manila.

"When we say healthcare utilization rate it comprises the isolation, the ward beds, ICU beds and mechanical ventilator," said Vergeire.

She said the healthcare utilization nationwide is at 56 percent while the HCUR in NCR is at 57.4.

Meanwhile, Vergeire said of the 450 Delta variant cases in the country, majority have recovered.

"Among the 450 Delta variant cases in the country 426 have recovered, 10 have died while 13 remain to be active...the outcome of one case is stil being verified," she said.

Vergeire said 69 cases are returning overseas Filipinos, 355 local cases while 26 cases are still being verified if they are local or ROF.

She also added that all 17 areas in the NCR have local Delta cases as of August 5.

Vergeire said 13 of the 17 regions were found to have the said variant first detected in India.

Only the regions of Mimaropa, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao have not seen Delta variant cases in their localities.
