Western Visayas cop hailed as outstanding Filipino

ILOILO CITY – A cop assigned at the Western Visayas regional headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) here is one of the 2021 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos.

Police Lt. Col. Jonathan Pablito, the deputy chief of the Regional Strategy Management Unit of the Police Regional Office (PRO-6), is one of the 10 public servants Metrobank Foundation recognized for their “service and community involvements helping shape better communities and creating a lasting positive impact upon the people. ” Pablito was awarded for strategizing the PNP’s Integrated Transformation Program in Western Visayas, a region comprising of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.

Pablito took helm in not only monitoring the program, but getting support from both PNP and local stakeholders of PATROL (Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and the upholding of the Rule of Law).

Before he served in the PNP regional headquarters of Western Visayas, Pablito was chief of the City Proper District police station in Iloilo City and in Malay, the town in Aklan where world-famous Boracay Island is located.

In his two previous assignments, Pablito initiated stakeholder-oriented interventions that reduced crime volume while getting community engagements to boost peace and order in those particular areas.

Two other Visayas-based cops were also awarded by Metrobank Foundation as Outstanding Filipinos and assigned in Cebu. They are Police Senior Master Sgt. Mary Joy B. Ylanan Bogo City and Police Lt. Col. Gerard Ace J. Pelare of Talisay City.
