Mandaluyong City already received P347.6-M ‘ayuda’ — Mayor Menchie


Mandaluyong City Mayor Carmelita “Menchie” Abalos on Saturday (August 7) confirmed that the city government has already received the P347.6 million “ayuda (financial aid)” from the national government.

The local government of Mandaluyong City has received a total of P347,652,000 from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

“We got the funds na kahapon ng hapon (yesterday afternoon, August 6) and we're still waiting for the ,” the mayor said.

However, the hands of the mayors in the metropolis are still tied and cannot distribute the “ayuda” yet as they are still waiting for the distribution guidelines of the national government.

Abalos said that Metro Manila mayors will have a meeting tonight (August 7).

Metro Manila was placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from August 6 to 20 due to the surge of cases and threat of the Deltra variant of COVID-19.
