Wet and dry market, residential area in Bacoor on lockdown due to COVID surge


BACOOR, Cavite - The city government placed the 678 wet and dry market in Barangay Molino IV under temporary lockdown after recording five cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) among its employees.

The lockdown began at 12 a.m. on August 5 and will last until 12 a.m. on August 9.

The COVID-19 patients were immediately isolated and mass antigen swab testing will be conducted among the market's vendors, tenants, staff, and workers.

The local government unit (LGU) also placed Little Quiapo in Barangay Talaba IV under hard lockdown from August 5 -18 after three of its residents tested positive for the virus.

The patients were taken to an isolation area and the LGU will conduct contract tracing and mass swab testing in the residential area composed of 85 families or 450 individuals.

Affected families in Little Quiapo will receive relief packs from the city government.
