The Archdiocese of Manila said the prelate arrived in Puerto Princesa around 11:10 a.m. citing the report of AVPP Ugnayan, the official social media arm of the Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Princesa.

Pabillo will be formally installed as Vicar Apostolic of Taytay on August 19.

In a Facebook post, AVPP Ugnayan said the prelate was welcomed by Rev. Fr. Reynante Aguanta, Apostolic Administrator and Rev. Fr. Philip Jerold Tan, Chancellor.

"Upon arrival at the Puerto Princesa International Airport, he immediately proceeded to Taytay via three-hour land travel, and is set to undergo 7-day quarantine," read the post.

It was last June 29 when Pope Francis appointed Pabillo as the second vicar apostolic of Taytay.

The 66-year-old Pabillo had been auxiliary bishop of Manila since 2006.
